Siccar was struggling to productise their technology and lacked the commercial platform design experience needed to capture an emerging market opportunity. The legal mandate for the Oil & Gas sector to report Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions created an urgent need for a secure and verifiable reporting platform. Traditional methods were prone to issues like data alteration, unauthorised access, and challenges to data validity. This created a clear opportunity for ClearSky to step in and design the Databox platform, ensuring Siccar’s foundational security technology could solve a critical, timely business problem with a commercially viable digital product.
Our approach was built on Initiative and rapid delivery. We established a joint delivery team with Siccar to scope the work, engage directly with Siccar clients, and facilitate user testing. We started with wireframe designs in Figma, iteratively refining hi-fidelity visuals in tandem with the development effort. This continuous feedback loop allowed us to proactively define and build the web platform.
By focusing on a lean MVP targeted specifically at the Oil & Gas sector’s reporting needs, we delivered the full end-to-end UAT version of the Databox platform in just six weeks, proving the concept’s origin-to-consumption capability at incredible speed.
